cruelty free hair care

After a week off last week (due to the shortened week from Monday's holiday)...I am back this week with another Cruelty Free Product of the Week!

This week, I'm sharing a hair care duo that I've been loving - Paul Mitchell's Lavender Mint shampoo and conditioner.

I picked up these smaller sized shampoo & condition bottles the other week at Ulta when they were on sale (buy two, get one free). In case you were wondering what the third item was, it was the Tea Tree shampoo for Aaron. It is also great, but I'll save that product for another post!

I have always loved Paul Mitchell hair care. It is a very high quality brand, and when I made the switch to cruelty free - I was so happy to see it made Logical Harmony's list of approved brands. Side note...if you are looking to make the switch, or just be more conscious about the products you buy, her list is the Holy Grail of cruelty free and vegan information. It is my only go-to these days, and is such a reliable resource due to her strict guidelines to be on the list and her constant work to keep it updated.

Now, back to hair care.

I loved that I could buy these products in a smaller, most affordable size, and try them out before taking the plunge for a giant bottle. They are a little over 10 ounces each, and online retail for $14.50 for the shampoo and $16.25 for the condition. I'm sure you can keep an eye out for coupons and deals though, because when I bought them in store, it was definitely cheaper than that. I do have to say, a little goes a long way with these products too - so they are lasting me quite well...especially since I don't wash my hair everyday.

The smell is AMAZING. One of the best I've come across for hair care, and it lingers (which I like)...so my hair smells like lavender after showering and even into the next day or so! I am also happy with the effect on my hair. It lathers up really well (which usually takes a ton of product in my super thick hair) and when all is said and done, my hair is extremely soft and shiny. Added bonus, it is part of the tea tree line, so it is moisturizing for your scalp! I am hooked on this pair, and I will be splurging for the large bottles once I run out!
