Nursery Plans

Nursery

How terrible am I? My daughter is nearly 6 months old and her nursery still isn't done yet. My excuse is that she doesn't even really use it yet - since she's still sleeping in our room.

My plans for this room have altered slightly since when I was pregnant. During that time, I was going for a more cool toned space with lots of light grey incorporated. But, since Marin was born, and over the past few months, the plans have shifted. We are still going to use the same crib and changing table (obviously), but I want to change up some of the decor before she is in there full time.

I have this crib and changing table set from Babyletto. I ultimately chose this set because it was modern and unique, while also transitioning into a toddler set as she grows. The crib converts to a toddler bed, and the changing table top can be removed to become a dresser.

We currently have a glider in the nursery, but to be honest, we never use it and it's not the comfiest chair. Big mistake purchase...but I'm hoping we can maybe utilize it somewhere else in the house and find something that works better for the nursery. I love this modern lounge chair from Wayfair.

As for decor, I want to add some greenery with a plant or two. Still going back and forth between faux or real plants - real typically look better, but are much more maintenance (clearly). I saw this faux fiddle leaf at Ikea the other day and thought it was pretty cute!

The other main decor pieces I want to get my hands on are a new rug and a woven wall hanging. This rug is out of stock, but I've got my eye on it because as soon as it is available I will be scooping it up! As for the wall hanging, I've been trolling Etsy for countless hours, looking for the perfect one. There are so many options, but I think I'm going to go with something macrame

It is slowly coming together and I can't wait to share pictures once it is done! xx

  1. I hope you can get a better glider--we love ours and it's definitely comfy! I'd also suggest stalking your local Buy Buy Baby and looking at their floor models. We got ours that way and it was significantly cheaper than their regular price.

  2. This actually makes me feel so much better that I'm not overly worried about the nursery yet! I love the crib and changing table you picked out- we're hoping to get a similar Babyletto one, did you get the Babyletto mattress too? I've been more torn on what mattress to get over the crib. That rug is gorgeous and I love the overall aesthetic of the room!
