Cruelty free skin care

Hi friends - long time no see! I had to take a little step away from blogging for a few weeks because life got crazy. We lost a person at work for awhile, so I was picking up extra duties in the office and also clocking some major overtime on the nights and weekends. In addition to my work life exploding, we've been working on the house again and getting all the planning ready for Marin's first birthday. Busy, busy!

I wanted to share some products that I've recently used up. I like reading posts like this to learn about new things, and get people's honest opinions on them...so I hope you like reading them too. Let me know if you have tried any of these things, or what you have used up recently!

// Burt's Bees Cleansing Oil (Travel Size)
I love this cleansing oil - so much so that I already purchased the full sized version and I'm about half way through it! It is my go to makeup remover at night. It has a light scent, nothing too overpowering, and it literally melts away my makeup. Plus, it is easy to rinse off and leaves my skin feeling very soft and not dried out (like a lot of other cleansers do)!

// Pixi Glow Mist
I did enjoy using this face mist - it didn't have much of a scent, and it lasted me a long time. It was really nice for a refreshing spritz at the end of putting on my makeup, and I even used it in the middle of the day occasionally for a little "pick-me-up". However, it didn't do much for the staying power of my makeup, and now that we are heading into the sweatier months of summer - I'm looking to try out something that has a bit more "hold". Recommendations appreciated!

// EcoTools Makeup Brush Shampoo
I have raved about this brush shampoo before, and I do really like it - I think it is a good quality product that does a great job cleaning all your makeup application tools. However, I picked up something different last time I ran out because I felt like I was going through this EcoTools one too quickly.

// Kristin Ess Signature Conditioner
I really like this hair care line - it works well, smells really nice, and has cute packaging (stupid, I know... but I'm a sucker for good packaging). I have repurchased this conditioner, and the shampoo - but I think next time I am going to splurge a bit and maybe try some Aveda products as I'm really enjoying some trial sized items I got from the brand.

// EOS Shave Cream in Lavender Jasmine
I am torn on this product. First of all, it smells really nice and leaves my skin feeling really moisturized after shaving. BUT, it is super thick and in my opinion, really difficult to use. It doesn't spread well on your skin due to how thick it is, and then it really clogs up my razor - to the point where I have to rinse it out 3x as often as I would with other shaving creams. I think I will be going back to one of my old favorites, the Kiss My Face Moisture Shave

  2. I used to use the josie maran cleansing oil and loved it, but the packaging really annoyed me because it would leak, but I haven't tried another cleansing oil since then and should look into one again! The Kristin Ess packaging really does pull you in, and yesss the smell! I haven't tried anything other than the conditioner but I'm definitely going to see what else she has since I like the conditioner so much and everything seems decently priced. I can't wait to hear what you think of the Aveda products-- you have the best hair!
