Nursery Plans for Baby Boy

Wednesday, July 3, 2019

I have loved putting together ideas for the nursery each time I have been pregnant. Marin's room is very minimal and modern - but light and airy too. You can see pictures of it here (at our old house). I will have to do an updated post on her room at our new house!

For Baby Boy, I kept things modern (with my favorite mid-century flare), but also incorporated a bit more color and some vintage-looking pieces. We haven't been able to put it together yet, as our house is currently in renovation mode. We have three bedrooms right now, but are creating a fourth bedroom/master suite on the lower level - so once that is completed and we can all shift rooms, there will be a space open for little man! Fingers crossed we can get that accomplished by the time he is ready to be in his own room ;)

The first thing I am going to do a bit differently with this room is have an accent wall, as opposed to most of our rooms that are painted 100% white. I'm loving the idea of a semi-dark green shade just on one wall, such as this color from Sherwin Williams.

Not sure what we will do for a crib yet...we will most likely reuse Marin's crib if she is ready to transition into a big girl bed by then. As for a dresser/changing table, I really would like a cool mid-century style piece in a darker wood - like the one pictured above. This is likely going to take some digging through Craigslist and local antique shops in order to find.

As for decor, I'm loving all these little touches...

// Ikea Sheepskin Rug

//  Fiddle Leaf Fig (most likely faux

// Round Brass Mirror

// Unique Art Prints (like these from Etsy)

// Stuffed Animal from Maileg (Marin has the pink dinosaur)

// Vintage Area Rug (love Swoon Rugs!)

I definitely have some time still to pull this all together since Baby Boy will be in a bassinet in our room for a while, but I know that once he's here time will start to fly by...so it has been fun to start gathering things and finalize my ideas for once we get his room space freed up for decorating!

  1. Love the idea of an accent wall and I'm really loving the touch of having a plant in the room too! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston
