cruelty free series: cosmetics // face

Monday, May 11, 2015

As promised, I'm starting off a series of posts on cruelty free products!
First up...cosmetics....specifically, face products.

I'm not going to lie, when I realized I would have to stop buying my Revlon Colorstay Foundation, it was upsetting. I've been using this foundation consistently for the past 4 years, so the thought of finding something new that I like just as much was daunting, to say the least.

But I was able to find some GREAT alternatives! One of which I already use for my summer foundation!

Much to my surprise, I also was already using quite a few cruelty free items in my regular makeup routine.

There are also quite a few items that I have heard about that I haven't had the chance to purchase yet, but am looking forward to trying out once I need to pick up some new makeup!

Physician's Formula (right top bronzer and bottom highlighter)

Finally, there are many options out there for high quality brushes as well! I thought I would include some of my favorites in with each cosmetics post based on the products I'm sharing - so here are some awesome cruelty free face brushes!

  1. I love that BareMinerals and Tarte are cruelty free - two of my favorite brands!! Pretty great that a brand like NYX that is so affordable is also a great alternative!! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston

  2. ah I am so glad to see some products that I already use on here. I love my real techniques brushes, good to hear they are cruelty free. i'm almost afraid to check if my foundation is cruelty free, it took me forever to find one :( but it's not worth it!

  3. AWESOME that so many products I already use, too, are cruelty-free. Nothing like seeing a video of an animal in sunlight for the first time after being a lab animal to break your heart and change your shopping habits! Keep up this incredible series, girl :)

  4. Love this series! It's always pleasantly surprising to discover when a brand we like is morally aligned with us...and utterly disappointing to find out when other ones we love are not. Testing on animals is SO unnecessary.
