Thankful

There are so many things in my life that I am thankful for on a daily basis, but this is the time of year when we really start to give it some thought and reflect on all of our blessings. This past year has been such a wonderful one, it is hard to make a list of everything I am grateful for, but here is a stab at it. Some serious, some more light-hearted....

// My Husband - so exciting to call him that now, I don't think it will ever lose its charm ;) He works so incredibly hard for our family and has such a physically and emotionally demanding job, and I am so proud of him everyday.

// Wedding Photos - I got previews from my photographer and the flash drive should be arriving in the mail over the next couple of weeks. I am so excited to share them with you all and relive all the wonderful memories from our little destination wedding <3

// The Future - so much to look forward to in the coming year, and exciting things happening for our family, can't wait to share more details!

// Pandora Christmas Radio - yes, I am one of those folks. I started listening non-stop about a week ago and I can't get enough. I just LOVE Christmas!

// The Internet - because it isn't even December yet, and I already have 90% of our Christmas shopping done thanks to websites, coupon codes, and next day shipping. Makes the endeavor of finding gifts SO much less stressful!

What are you especially thankful for this year? xx

Christmas Wish List

Wednesday, November 16, 2016

It's that time of year! Christmas is my favorite - I just love the decorations, the music, and really just everything that goes along with the season. I love picking out and wrapping gifts for my friends and family - there is nothing better than the excitement of your loved one's faces when they open something you put a lot of time and thought into :)

The older I get, the harder it is to come up with things when my family asks what to get me - does that happen to any of you? ...In all honesty Mum, I could use a new dishwasher (lol!)

Here is a quick run down of things that made it onto my Christmas wish list!

// Diptyque Perfume - I'm so excited to have finally found a major perfume brand that is cruelty free. I'm not prepared to commit to an entire bottle of a scent yet though, so travel size will do fine for now!

// PINK Sweater - I can never have enough of these cozy lounge sweats, especially during the chilly months!

// Urban Outfitters Vegan Leather Tote - so excited about this purse, it is such a gorgeous color and I can't wait to replace some of my older leather tote bags.

// Sephora Gift Card - my makeup wish list is just getting far too long, so a gift card to go pick up some of the items would be perfect!

// ASOS Coat - I saw this the other day in one of Samantha Maria's YouTube videos, and I just fell in love with it! It is such a pretty color, it looks so soft and warm...and it is a classic cut that looks like it will be stylish for years to come.

// KORRES Gift Set - this brand makes such lovely skin products, and I thought this "Best of" kit seems like a great addition to my winter skin care collection.

// Pottery Barn Nativity Set - Aaron and I don't have a proper Nativity Scene for the holidays yet, and I love how unique and modern this set is! It would be perfect to put out with all of our Christmas decorations.

What is on your wish list for this holiday season?? xx

things that made me happy this week

Friday, November 4, 2016

Happy Friday my friends! Hope you've had a lovely week...it has been a good one, but I'm ready for the weekend. I love the fall weather and cooler temps, I don't even mind the rain and wind, but I haven't gotten enough sleep this week so I've been feeling groggy and lazy and need to get to bed early tonight!

Wanted to pop on to share some of the few things that made me happy this week...

1// My new blog layout, thanks to the talented Kate at 17th Avenue Designs! Be sure to check out all her awesome web designs on Etsy.

2// The Tobacco & Patchouli candle (pictured above) that Aaron bought in NC while we were on our honeymoon. This was a random impulse purchase one day while we were shopping. It is tiny, but smells so amazing and fills the entire house with a gorgeously rich fall scent. Love it!

3// Trick-or-treat! It is always so fun to take Aubrey out for Halloween. She dressed up as Rey from the new Star Wars this year (I was in charge of mastering the hair-do) and we met up with some of her friends and their parents to walk around the neighborhood.

4// Which brings me to another favorite...Halloween candy. Give me all the fun sized boxes of Milk Duds and Nerds. Aubrey was hilarious because each house she got them from, she'd yell out to me, "I got you Nerds!". The girl knows I love them ;)

5// The World Series - although it kept me up way too late two nights in a row, and my beloved Cleveland Indians didn't pull through, it was a hell of a ride. They gave the Cubs a good fight and I'm so proud of how well they performed this season! As Lebron's shirt said at the game on Wednesday night, #clevelandornowhere

6// Having the husband home all week - love when he doesn't have to travel for work!

7// Lentil soup from Aladdin's. So delicious - I need to find a copy cat recipe to try at home.

8// I had a phone interview for a new job this week that went well, and I'm going in early next week for an in person interview. Wish me luck!

9// Starting to brainstorm for Christmas presents. I love getting gifts for friends and family, and I already feel like I am behind this year! Only like 7 weeks until Xmas!

10// My dogs. Always <3
