Cruelty-free Skincare // Ole Henriksen

Ole Henriksen cruelty free

A few weeks ago, I got online and ordered a bunch of trial sized items from Ole Henriksen to take for a test drive. This skin care brand has just entered my radar as of the past few months and I've been wanting to try some things out after hearing good reviews!

I've been using everything for a while now, so I wanted to hop on here to report back and let you know what I've been liking - and considering purchasing full sized...and what I'm going to take a pass on.

The first thing I was looking to try out was the Truth Serum. It has a lot of good buzz in the online beauty world - and I was looking for a Vitamin C serum to add to my morning routine, as I haven't been that crazy about the Drunk Elephant one I have been using. What I like about this right off the bat, is that there are tons of different size options. I ended up picking up the 3 Little Wonders Mini Set, because the value was insane. $25 for three travel sized samples (including the Truth Serum). I would definitely recommend taking a look at this set if you are interested in trying out Ole Henriksen.
The Truth Serum is a definite two thumbs up for me. I like the mild smell and the consistency much better than other Vitamin C serums, and it feels a lot better on my skin. I am very interested in purchasing a full sized version of this to keep using - although the 0.5 oz trial size is going to last me a good bit of time, I can tell!

The other two items in the set were the Sheer Transformation Perfecting Moisturizer and the Invigorating Night Transformation Gel. I did like the moisturizer - it is very sheer and light, and absorbs into your skin nicely. However, I do not like it more than my current moisturizer - so I won't be ordering more of this. As for the night gel, this was probably my least favorite product that I tested. It doesn't do much of anything for my skin in the evening, it felt sticky, and it made the skin around my nose burn and feel dry. Now - just a reminder - this is just how everything reacted and felt for me, personally. I don't want to discourage you if you want to try something, because things that don't work for me, might end up working great for someone else!
I also ordered a 2 oz version of their popular Face the Truth Gel Cleanser. I was a bit surprised when it came out of the tube in a transparent orange color, but once I lathered it on my face, I was really pleased. You only need a small amount, and it lathers up on your face, removing any makeup residue and dirt/oil. I use it primarily after removing my makeup with an oil product - so this is the second step of a double cleanse for me. I am very happy with it and will be purchasing more!

The day that I ordered everything, there was a coupon code for a 7-day trial set of three products:
- Wonderfeel Double Cleanser
- Banana Bright Eye Cream
- And (more) Sheer Transformation Perfecting Moisturizer

This code gave me 7 generous sample sized packs of each product, so you could try out all three items for seven days. Such a great deal! So, if you are looking to order from Ole Henriksen, check out their main website for any offers and coupon codes!

The Banana Bright Eye Cream was one thing I was most excited to try - and it definitely lives up to the hype. It is smooth and nourishing, and wears so well under makeup. I want to get my hands on a full sized tub here soon!

Have you tried any Ole Henriksen products? What are your favorites??
