Marin will be turning two this coming Saturday (excuse me while I burst into tears lol)...and we had her birthday party this past weekend with all of our family & friends. It was SO much fun! Parties are seriously so much work to plan and pull off, but it was worth it in the end because everyone had a great time and Marin had a blast all weekend long.
I went for a lemonade theme for her party this year. We held it at a local park in our neighborhood that has a great pavilion you can rent, right next to the children's playground area. And, we were lucky to have great weather that day - it was sunny and in the high 60s...just perfect!
Some of the decor I went for included rose gold, yellow, and white balloons, lemon shaped napkins, pink striped paper straws, and some cute ceramic lemons (thank you Target Dollar Spot). I was also able to reuse the cake stand from her party last year, and the burlap table runners from our wedding. I keep a big box of decor in our basement just so we can re-purpose things when possible!
I got her cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes, and it was delicious! It was lemon flavored (of course) and we had a big glass dispenser of lemonade to go along with.
We are so thankful for all of our awesome friends and family that came out to the party, especially those that drove from further away and traveled to Columbus just for the weekend! I love seeing my daughter playing and becoming friends with my best friend's children - it really is special.
My husband and his best friend manned the grill so we could all enjoy hamburgers and hot dogs...and thanks to my mom and mother-in-law, we had some great BBQ-style food to go along with - fruit salad, baked beans, etc. The kids all had such a great time playing outside...spending most of the party running around at the playground, drawing with chalk, and blowing bubbles (Marin's favorite activity of the day). It was such a fun weekend, and the perfect way to celebrate our little bird turning 2!
How is it that she's already 2!? I love the theme and that you guys had nice weather! I'm starting to plan Sophia's 1st birthday ahhh! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteI know!! It goes by WAY too fast. I can't believe your little sweetie is already going to be one here soon! xx
DeleteTwo already! The lemonade theme is so fun & it looks like the best day. I looked into those bundt cakes for Mason's birthday, but decided I would make one instead-- that didn't turn out so we had to run out and buy one the morning of his party (mom fail, lol).
ReplyDeleteThanks lady, it was a great day :) Haha aww that's awesome you tried to make a cake, even if it didn't quite turn out...baking is SO hard! Mason's birthday party was sooo cute too! xx
