Marin's Toddler Room

Thursday, November 21, 2019

We passed Marin's half birthday point the other day...so she is officially 2 1/2 years old and I can't believe how fast time is flying by. I feel like she was just my little baby... and now we are thinking about how to transition her out of her crib and into a toddler room.

I already love a lot of the things we have in her room, so when starting to plan for the change from a nursery to a toddler-friendly space, I decided that I want to reuse quite a bit. We will get some new furniture, and a couple new decor items, but then rework what is already there

The biggest changes will be the bed and dresser. I'm going to get rid of her crib and changing table, and replace them with this toddler bed from Ikea and a vintage dresser. I already have my eye on a couple at an antique mall near Columbus, so we will see what I can get my hands on.
As for decor, I will be keeping her rugs, wooden name hanging, rattan stool, toy basket, and macrame wall hanging. I also have two mudcloth pillowcases that I had originally purchased for our master bedroom, but now I'm going to use them in Marin's room. I am going to keep her baby animal prints too, but just re-frame them to match the new color scheme of the space. I think these frames from Ikea will be perfect.

Other items I plan to pick up include:

- Additional toy basket to keep things organized
- Two floating ledge shelves to display books
- Round brass mirror for above the dresser
- A basket, or something similar to sit on the dresser
- A couple of faux plants to add some green to the space
